Car Window Stickers and Screen Printing

The most common way of producing car window stickers is screen printing. Prior to the advent of digital printing techniques production methods were limited. Still today the most cost effective manner to produce larger batches of car window stickers is via the traditional screen printing process. This process allows multiple images of the car window stickers to be screen printed on a piece of self adhesive vinyl and guillotine trimmed to the finished size on completion.  Car window stickers are more likely to be digitally produced when the overall requirement is for smaller quantities thus removing the necessity of the initial set up elements required to produce screen printed stickers.

Screen printed car window stickers require a positive film image to be generated for each individual colour to be screen printed. This is then converted into an image on a screen using an ultra violet light sensitive photographic emulsion which can be washed out with water once the image has been exposed. The screen is then placed into semi automatic screen printing machine and ink forced through the exposed areas using a rubber squeegee. The ink is then dried through a heat conveyor drier and this process repeated until all the colours required to make up the finished car window stickers have been printed.
