Car window stickers can be screen printed using a limited range of base materials. The majority of these substrates are constructed from a pvc vinyl film with an adhesive applied to the reverse. Which material to use depends on the end use of the car window stickers. Some are required to have a permanent application and in this case the car window stickers will be screen printed onto a base material which has either a permanent or extra permanent adhesive on the reverse. Typically car window stickers with this strength of adhesive will be applied to surfaces such as car body work for where the graphics or advertising message is to be viewed over the long term. The other adhesive strengths available are removable or ultra removable. Car window stickers screen printed on removable adhesive based material tend to be used for a particular promotion which is intended to run for a shorter or fixed period of promotion. There is however a word of caution for car window stickers manufactured on material with a removable adhesive in as much that when left for a longer period of time this adhesive will become permanent.
The other material used in the production of car window stickers is self cling pvc. This material will adhere to a glass surface through its naturally static properties. This is indeed over time the only material that car window stickers can made from which is truly removable.
